Raiders vs. Chargers Predictions

It's time to take a look at the match-ups for this week's game versus the Chargers in San Diego. On paper, it looks to be a landslide victory for the Chargers, but as we know, the Chargers have some issues on Special Teams that have led to their 6-5 record.

Raiders Offense vs. Chargers Defense

The Chargers have been leading the league in overall defense the entire year and are in the top three in all three categories - Overall Defense, Passing Defense, and Rushing Defense. The Raiders have taken steps backward on offense the last two weeks. The rushing game has gone from second in the league, to 5th. This is going to be tough with the Raiders having to face another top tier defense on the road.

Advantage: Chargers

Raiders Defense vs. Chargers Offense

The Chargers are also 1st in the league in Total Offense. They are second in passing offense to the Colts and really play well at home. Even though they will be without Vincent Jackson and a fully healthy Gates, the Chargers should be able to move the ball pretty effectively. The Raiders defense has not played with the same intensity they had during their three game winning streak. They must match the Chargers intensity if they hope to keep the game close.

Advantage : Chargers

Special Teams

The Raiders are head and shoulders above the Chargers in this area. If the Raiders are to win this game, they will need to have some special plays in the return game. This is where the game will be decided. If the Chargers play like they did in their last meeting, it could be a Raiders' victory.

Advantage: Raiders

Prediction: Chargers 30, Raiders 14
