Bruce is Still The Man
Even though Sunday's loss still resonates, it is important to look at some of the positives. Sunday proved that Bruce Gradkowski is the right man to lead this football team at the current time. He always makes plays when he needs to and puts us in a position to win. Some of the things that went wrong were not to be put all on Gradkowski's shoulders. A field goal at the end of the game was all that stood between him being 2-0 this season. Some people want to put the blame on him for not calling a time-out when they were first and goal at the one with the play clock winding down. They were called for a delay of game penalty and later had to settle for a field goal. However, Gradkowski had to wait on the play to be called in and there was only 12 seconds left on the play clock. He was able to make plays throughout the game to keep the winning hopes alive. He converted on a 4th down and 10 at midfield to even give Janikowski a chance at the end to attempt a field goal. We just need to continue to work on fine tuning some of the issues that we need to address to win more consistently. In this league it is a very fine line between winning the game and losing the game. Just ask Chicago, Pittsburgh and Kansas City. They could all be 1-2 if one thing went differently in each of their games. We are on the right path, we just need to keep being diligent and things will turn around. There is still reason to believe that this team is a 9 win team.
