We have come to the bye week, which coincides with the halfway point of the season (not quite half, but good enough). How do you see them playing the rest of the way? Is this a playoff team? Let's take a look at their remaining schedule:
11/21 @ Pittsburgh (6-2)
11/28 Miami (4-4)
12/5 @ San Diego (4-5)
12/12 @ Jacksonville (4-4)
12/19 Denver (2-6)
12/26 Indianapolis (5-3)
1/2 @Kansas City (5-3)
What are your predictions? Who do you think they will beat and who will they lose to? What will be their final record? Post your predictions here and we'll see how we did at the end of the season.
Here is an article on ESPN that explains that the Raiders are now "America's Team," a title once held by the Dallas Cowboys.
Raiders 13, Pittsburgh 17
ReplyDeleteRaiders 27, Miami 21
Raiders 31, San Diego 30
Raiders 24, Jacksonville 30
Raiders 42, Denver 24
Raiders 10, Indianapolis 24
Raiders 27, Kansas City 24
Final record 9-7
They have a pretty rough schedule coming up, with all but Denver and San Diego having 50-50 records or better. Pittsburgh has been showing a great amount of skill, Indianapolis is an iffy game, depending on which team shows up, and the Raiders really need Gradkowski back in. With Gradkowski, I think they could take Indianapolis and maybe pull an upset at Pittsburgh. Without him, I think they will be hard pressed to match these two teams.

It looks as though you think that they would go 6-0 in the division. That's going to be pretty tough to do. I would probably have them losing at San Diego and winning at Jacksonville or at home against the Colts. I think that 9-7 is pretty reasonable at this point. I would probably have them in that range as well. The reason I would have them beating the Colts is because the Raiders are a very difficult matchup for them. The Colts don't stop the run nor do they run the ball at all, so the Raiders shouldn't have to worry about stopping the run and can run wild on offense. It should be similar to the Broncos matchup. The Raiders are also very good against the pass, third in the league, and it will be at home. I will give my predictions for the rest of the season later this evening.
